What is the typical number of participants on your trips?

It ranges from 25-60. Most trips have between 30-40 participants.

What is the female to male ratio on your trips?

It usually runs about 60% women, 40% men (ranging from 75% women, 25% men to 50% women, 50% men.).

If my age is not in the advertised range, can I still take the trip?

Yes. The advertised age ranges are merely a guideline, not a hard and fast rule. In fact, on many trips we have had travelers outside the advertised age range for that tour. Anyone interested in taking any of our trips is welcome.

Are your customers religious or non-religious?

Approximately 80% typically identify themselves as non-religious, approximately 20% as religious.

If I am traveling alone, will you provide me with a roommate, or will I have to pay the single supplement?

We will provide you with a roommate.

How long has JSV been in operation?

Since 1990.

Do you offer any weekend getaways or local parties?

No, we do not. We are exclusively a group tour organizer and operator. Our vacation packages are typically 7 to 10 nights.

What trips will be offered after August 2009?

Regarding travel beyond August, 2009 we are exploring many possibilities. If you have any suggestions, please let us know by e-mail.

Where do the trip participants come from?

Primarily from across North America, but we have also had participants from Israel, Australia and Europe.

Are you registered with any professional organizations?

Yes. We are registered with the Boston Better Business Bureau 

Is it possible to speak with previous participants?

Yes. We will be happy to provide you with names and phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses upon request.

 How would you describe the type of person that enjoys your trips?

Anyone who enjoys visiting new places, finds our itineraries appealing, and enjoys vacationing with their peers.

 Is your organization affiliated with the Orthodox, Conservative, or Reform movements?

No. On our trips we strive to create an itinerary which, on the one hand, does not cater to any particular level of observance but, on the other hand, does not exclude or offend anyone. To do this, we do not include lunches or dinners, and we have no activities scheduled on Friday nights or Saturdays. In addition, the hotels we use on Friday nights and Saturdays are within walking distance of synagogues, whenever possible.

Is Kosher food available on the trip?

Lunches and dinners are not included in our package. Breakfasts are included with the hotel accommodations. People wishing to keep Kosher are advised to make their own arrangements in advance and/or we can provide you with a list of Kosher restaurants, wherever available.

Do you ever get couples or non-Jewish people on your tours?

Occasionally.  While we advertise for Jewish Singles, anyone who chooses to participate in our tours is welcome.
