Arrival in Charleston, SC. If you need assistance arranging your transportation to Charleston, we will be glad to help you. Since tour members will be arriving at different times, it is not practical to arrange a group transfer from the Charleston Airport to the hotel. Taxi services are available. The tour begins at the hotel. Hotel check-in starts at 4:00 P.M. Meet your tour manager and fellow tour members at our welcome reception at the hotel at 6:30 P.M. Four nights accommodations at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Each guest suite has the comfort of a spacious living room, bedroom and private bathroom.
Thursday, April 7
Cooked-to-Order Breakfast. Today we will have a tour of two of America's earliest plantations and gardens: Magnolia Gardens and Middleton Place. Whiile at Middleton Place, we will also enjoy an authentic Low Country cuisine lunch (cost included), served in the Middleton Place Restaurant.
Friday, April 8
This morning we will visit Fort Sumter, the place where the Civil War began. Then we will see the Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Synagogue, the oldest Reform synagogue in America and a National Historic Landmark. After free time for lunch (cost not included) in the Old City Market, we will have a walking tour of the city. Our local guide will show us Charleston's old historic buildings, stately places of worship and magnificent public buildings.
Saturday, April 9
Cooked-to-Order Breakfast. Day at leisure. Evening farewell reception at 5:30 P.M. Beverages and light refreshments will be served.
Sunday, April 10
Cooked-to-Order Breakfast. Hotel check-out is at 12:00 P.M. You can plan your departure accordingly.
