If you are departing from the USA or Canada, you will take an overnight flight to Rome, arriving on Thursday, May 19. If you are departing from another country, please arrange to arrive in Rome by the afternoon of Thursday, May 19. (See flight arrangements page).

Thursday,
May 19

Complimentary group transfer from the airport to the hotel. (Private transfers available at cost.) Group orientation in the hotel at 6:00 P.M., followed by a group dinner. Accommodations for four nights at the Hotel Universo.

Friday,
May 20

Breakfast. Morning tour of Vatican City, including St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum and the Sistene Chapel, known for its ceiling painted by Michelangelo. We have an excursion to Tivoli this afternoon, visiting the marvelous fountains and waterfalls of Villa d'Este.

Breakfast. Day at leisure.

Sunday,
May 22

Breakfast. In the morning we will visit the Great Synagogue and the Jewish Museum of Rome. This afternoon we tour ancient Rome - the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. We will also visit Michelangelo's famous statue of Moses.

Monday,
May 23

Breakfast. We travel south to Pompeii today. Here we will enjoy a guided tour of the excavated ruins of the Roman city petrified and preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. We then continue to Sorrento. Accommodations for three nights at the Hotel la Residenza.

Tuesday,
May 24

Breakfast. Today we will explore magnificent Sorrento, the beautiful town of lemon groves and cafes. Our guide will show us the historical city center including Town Hall, Piazza Tasso and Corso Italia. We will also venture out into the countryside to visit a cheese factory. Free time this afternoon to explore Sorrento on your own.

Wednesday,
May 25

Breakfast. This morning we cruise to the Isle of Capri, one of the most spectacular islands in the Mediterranean. Capri is picturesque tiny squares, white houses and narrow medieval alleyways full of hanging flowers,all surrounded by a deep blue, crystal clear sea. Our local guide will give us a tour of this exquisite island. Late afternoon return to our hotel.

May 26
Breakfast. We travel to the remarkable Amalfi Coast, offering spectacular views of the ocean and hillside towns. We'll visit the amazing town of Positano where most house foundations are horizontal. We will also explore the beautiful old-fashioned village of Ravello to view its famed gardens. Our day ends in Naples. Accommodations for three nights at the Starhotel Terminus.
Friday,
May 27
Breakfast. Our day will begin with a panoramic tour of Naples, including the old quarter, medieval castle and the port area. Our lunch will be at Pizza University, here in the city where pizza was invented in the nineteenth century. This afternoon we will travel to Caserta to visit the Royal Palace.
Saturday,
May 28
Breakfast. Day at leisure. Evening farewell reception. Beverages and light refreshments served.
Sunday,
May 29
Breakfast. Group transfer from the hotel to the Naples airport. (Private transfers available at cost.) Homebound flights.
