Arrival in San Francisco. If you need assistance arranging your transportation to San Francisco, we will be glad to help you. Since tour members will be arriving at different times, there will not be a group transfer from San Francisco International Airport to the hotel. Taxi and shuttle services are available. The tour begins at the hotel. Meet your tour manager and fellow tour members at our welcome reception at the hotel at 9:30 P.M. Accommodations at the Pickwick Hotel.

Sunday, |
Breakfast. We join Highway 1 and travel south along the beautiful California Coast to the picturesque seaside village of Monterey. It is filled with restored historic buildings and Spanish adobes. The ocean canyon surrounding Monterey Bay is deeper than the Grand Canyon and harbors a rich variety of sea life, which we will see at the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium. This afternoon the breathtaking scenery of the Monterey Peninsula awaits us. We will travel along the famous 17 Mile Drive as it winds its way along some of California's most dramatic coastline and past the Pebble Beach Golf Course and the Lone Cypress. Then we visit the nearby artists' hamlet of Carmel with time to explore its quirky shops and galleries. Our day concludes in San Simeon. Accommodations at the Courtesy Inn. |

Monday, |
Breakfast. Today begins with a tour of Hearst Castle, one of the world's great showplaces. From here we travel to San Luis Obispo to see the Madonna Inn, a landmark on California's Central Coast for over forty-five years. This unique hotel has 108 rooms, no two alike! We then continue along the Big Sur coastline en route to the quaint Danish village of Solvang. Take some time to stroll through Solvang's flower-lined streets and European shops and bakeries. Tuesday, |
Breakfast. This morning we will visit Santa Barbara, a Spanish styled city perched on hills above the Pacific. We will visit the impressive 200 year old Mission Santa Barbara, with its magnificent twin bell towers, then have some free time at the wharf before we continue to Los Angeles. This afternoon we will have a city tour highlighted by visits to legendary Grauman's Chinese Theater, where over 200 celebrities have left their hand and foot prints, and the star-studded Hollywood Walk of Fame. Then it's west along the fabled Sunset Strip to the palm lined streets of Beverly Hills and a stop on Rodeo Drive. Accommodations for two nights at the Marina International Hotel. |

Wednesday, |
Breakfast. Today you are free to explore this exciting city. You may want to visit the exquisite Getty Museum, be entertained at exciting Universal Studios or just relax at the beach. (Our hotel is around the corner from Venice Beach and its amazing boardwalk.) |

Thursday, |
Breakfast. This morning we travel to magnificent San Diego, a city with 70 miles of pristine beach and world class attactions. In the afternoon we will have a panoramic tour including the downtown, the Gaslamp District, Balboa Park, Coronado Island and Old Town San Diego. Accommodations for three nights at the Courtyard by Marriott. |

Friday, |
The day is yours to experience San Diego on your own. You may want to visit the world famous San Diego Zoo, be entertained at wondrous SeaWorld or pick up some last minute souvenirs. |

Breakfast. Day at leisure. Farewell reception at 6:00 P.M. Beverages and light refreshments will be served. |

Breakfast. Hotel check-out is at 11:00 A.M. You can plan your departure accordingly. |
