Itinerary Highlights

Saturday, April 28
If you are departing from the USA or Canada, you will take an overnight flight to Rome, arriving on Sunday, April 29.  If you are departing from another country, please arrange to arrive in Rome by the afternoon of Sunday, April 29.
(See special flight arrangements page).
Sunday, April 29 Complimentary group transfer from the airport to the hotel. (Private transfers at cost.)  Group orientation in the hotel at 6:00 P.M., followed by group dinner.  Accommodations at the Hotel Palatino.

If you want to arrive in Rome prior to Sunday, April 29, please contact us about hotel reservations.

Monday, April 30
Morning tour of Vatican City, including St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum and the Sistene Chapel, known for its ceiling painted by Michelagelo.
 
This afternoon we tour ancient Rome - the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, The Arch of Constantine and Circus Maximus.  We will also see the Victor Emmanuel Monument and Michelangelo's famous statue of Moses.
Tuesday May 1
In the morning we will visit the Great Synagogue and the Jewish Museum of Rome.  We will also see the Pantheon and the Piazza Navonna, featuring a Bernini fountain.
 
We have an excursion to Tivoli this afternoon, visiting the exquisite fountains and waterfalls of Villa d'Este.  We will also see Villa Adrian, a collection of replicas of the places the emperor Hadrian had seen in the world.
 
This evening we have an optional program - dinner followed by stops at the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, both most attractive when viewed at night. (Cost: US $40.00)
Wednesday, May 2 Day at leisure.
Thursday, May 3
This morning we travel to Florence.
 
Our afternoon will include a stop at Piazzale Michelangiolo, to enjoy the best view of Florence. We also visit the Galleria Palatina at the Pitti Palace, one of Italy's finest collections of Italian Renaissance and baroque masters, and the Church of Santa Croce, burial place of Michelangelo.  Accommodations at the Hotel Mediterraneo.
Friday, May 4 Today we will see Michelangelo's David at the Galleria dell' Accademia, the Duomo, the Baptistery, featuring Ghiberti's bronze doors known as the Gates of Paradise,  Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, the cultural, political and social heart of the city.  We will also visit the Florence Synagogue and the Jewish Museum.
Saturday, May 5 Day at leisure.
Sunday, May 6
Following our morning drive to Venice we will tour Piazza San Marco, including St. Mark's Basilica, The Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and a panoramic view of the city from the top of Campanile di San Marco.  Accommodations at the Sheraton Padova.
Monday, May 7
This morning we will visit the synagogues and the Jewish Museum in the Jewish Ghetto, the first in Europe. 

Afternoon at leisure.

Tuesday, May 8
Our first stop will be in Verona to view Juliet's Balcony and the Roman Arena.  We then continue to Milan where we will have a tour of the La Scala Opera House.  Accommodations at the Hotel Michelangelo.
Wednesday, May 9
Group transfer from the hotel to the airport in Milan. 
(Private transfers at cost.)  Homebound flights.
