Rockies Itinerary Highlights

Saturday, August 18
Arrival in Calgary. Since tour members will be arriving at different times, it is not practical to arrange a group transfer from the Calgary airport. Shuttle services are available at a nominal cost. The tour begins at the hotel. Meet you tour manager at a 9:30 P.M. orientation. Accommodations at the International Hotel.

Sunday, August 19 Breakfast. Travel south along the Macleod Trail. Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, designated a World Heritage Site. It is among the oldest, largest and best preserved of hundreds of buffalo jump sites across the western plains. We continue to scenic Waterton Lakes National Park. Accommodations at Bayshore Inn.
Monday, August 20 Breakfast. We travel to Glacier National Park. Board special minibuses and travel across the Continental Divide taking the "Going-to-the Sun Road". We cross 6,664 ft. high Logan Pass, then enter an unspoiled domain of alpine scenery, deep valleys, glacier peaks and cascading waterfalls. At West Glacier we reboard our private motorcoach and proceed to Whitefish, MT. Accommodations at the Alpinglow.
Tuesday August 21 Breakfast. We re-enter Canada through a picturesque region of British Columbia and visit Fort Steele, a town restored to appear as it was during the Old West days of the Kootenay Gold Rush. Accommodations at the Radium Resort.
Wednesday, August 22 Breakfast. We pass through Kootenay National Park , through the steep red cliffs of Sinclair Canyon and on to Banff National Park. Visit Cave & Basin and Bow Falls. Next, we take a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain for a magnificnet view of the valley. Accommodations at the Rundlestone.
Thursday, August 23 Breakfast. We travel to Lake Louise, whose waters form a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria and its glacier. Lunch at Lake Louise Station included. At Peyto Lake we get an aerial view of a glacial lake. Next, is our orientation tour of Jasper National Park. Accommodations at Maligne Lodge.
Friday, August 24 Breakfast. Travel the Icefields Parkway to Sunwapta and Athabasca Falls. Next we stop at the 1,000 ft. thick Columbia Icefield for a thrilling ride aboard a "snowcoach". Return to Calgary in the late afternoon. Accommodations at International Hotel.
Saturday, August 25 Breakfast. Day at leisure. Late afternoon farewell get-together.
Sunday, August 26
Breakfast. Hotel check-out time is 11:00 A.M. Plan your departure accordingly.
